Yuji Liguori | Head of Japan Oncology Business Unit

Yuji Liguori, Head of the Japan Oncology Business Unit (JOBU), is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and overall performance of the Oncology portfolio in Japan. He brings over 15 years of industry experience to the role, having previously held leadership positions across different geographies.

Yuji started his career in Strategic Product Planning being responsible for the business evaluation of internal pipeline, subsequently holding roles in sales and business development with the latter being responsible for the search and evaluation for Oncology in-licensing opportunities for Japan. He has also held several leadership roles working in the Europe and Canada Oncology Business Unit as the Chief of Staff and leading the integration efforts of Takeda and Shire for Europe and Canada region. He also led the Oncology business in Norway.

Most recently he has been in leadership positions within Japan serving as Chief Operating Officer at Nihon Pharmaceutical Co., where he played a pivotal role in establishing the company as a leader in plasma-derived therapies and managing its integration into Takeda. In addition, he was the Head of Marketing for the Japan Gastrointestinal Business Unit prior to most recently being the Head of Marketing for Japan Oncology Business Unit.

He graduated from Waseda University in Japan with a Bachelor’s degree in International Liberal Studies and holds a Global Leadership MBA from Bond University in Australia.
