Satoshi Uchida | Head of Japan Oncology Business Unit | Takeda Oncology

Satoshi Uchida is Head of Japan for the Global Oncology Business Unit, overseeing an organization of 450 members, including commercial, market access, medical affairs, patient advocacy and communications functions.

Since joining Takeda in 2016, Satoshi has held several roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to becoming Head of Japan OBU, he served as the Country Head - Iberia Oncology, and was responsible for the Spanish and Portuguese Oncology organization. Satoshi also served in oncology commercial roles in Zurich and Iberia, as well as leading the Japan R&D Transformation operations. In this position he played a key role in driving the carve outs of the 3 R&D functions (Research/Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Development) and the establishment of Shonan Innovation Park.

Satoshi is a highly strategic leader, passionate about building a diverse and competitive team that can manage ambiguity and achieve exceptional results in a fastchanging environment. He is known for his inclusive leadership and exceptional crosscultural sensitivity.

Prior to joining Takeda, Satoshi held roles at BCG (UK) and Booz & Co. (Japan) where he developed a proven track record in leading strategy development and complex transformations; driving change in the client organization by leading cross-functional teams through influence.

Satoshi holds a Master of Engineering in Chemistry & Biotechnology from the University of Tokyo (Japan), and a Master of Business Administration from IMD Business School (Switzerland).
