Ryan MacLean is Head of Human Resources for the Oncology Business Unit (OBU) and a member of the Global Oncology Leadership Team.

Before joining Takeda, Ryan was Head of Human Resources to the Chief Operating Officer at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, overseeing the strategic talent agenda for Worldwide Commercial, Commercial Manufacturing & Supply Chain, and Corporate Functions. Prior to this role, he held multiple HR leadership roles at Biogen, spanning Worldwide Medical, U.S. Commercial, and Global Diversity & Inclusion. Before joining Biogen, he progressed through various HR leadership roles at GE Healthcare and at Philips Healthcare. Ryan brings a track record of organizational development, workforce engagement, and innovative talent solutions. He is driven by a personal passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and fostering a culture that ensures all have the opportunity for their voices to be heard and their ambitions to be realized.

A native New Englander and first-generation American, Ryan received his bachelor’s degree in international human resource management from Southern New Hampshire University.
