Marcelo Barretta | Chief Financial Officer | Takeda Oncology

Marcelo Barretta is the Chief Financial Officer for the Oncology Business Unit. He brings more than 15 years of finance leadership experience in the life sciences industry. Most recently, he served as Finance Divisional Head for the Cardiovascular and Established Brands business at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), where he supported accelerated product launches and led strategic transformation across the commercial portfolio. Earlier in his tenure at BMS, Marcelo was the Finance Lead for Cell Therapy and directed global financial readiness for the successful commercial launch of a CAR-T medicine across the U.S., EU and Japanese markets.

Before joining BMS, Marcelo led Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis at Alexion, where he scaled the finance operating model to enable portfolio growth and international expansion. Earlier in his career, he worked at Bayer and Novartis in roles spanning Global Oncology, U.S. Commercial, the LATAM region and R&D.

Marcelo holds an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Mauá de Tecnologia in Brazil.
