Patient Advocacy

At Takeda Oncology, we put patients first and strive to build lasting relationships with people with cancer and their caregivers to bring better health and a brighter future to patients locally and globally.

Our Patient Advocacy team accomplishes this by helping people with cancer access care, delivering education about different types of cancer, serving as the voice of the patient with internal stakeholders, engaging the patient community across many channels and affecting policy on behalf of people with cancer.

We lead a series of signature advocacy programs and activities, including Patient Ambassadors, local patient outreach programs, educational programs delivered by patient groups, financial and transportation assistance, charitable support for cancer advocacy organizations and patient-centered disease awareness campaigns during Blood Cancer Awareness Month (September) and Multiple Myeloma Awareness Month (March).

As a result of these efforts, more than 40,000 patients are reached by live unbranded educational programs every year, and more than 10,000 patients and caregivers have heard a Patient Ambassador share his or her story over the past five years.
